Department of Defense Awards New Offshore Contract

Today Department of Defense awarded Offshore Service Vessels, LLC $7,264,728 contract to support up to 30 military personnel for 30 days without resupply for U.S. Navy missions. The vessel will also provide support to Maritime Security Operations.

Offshore Service Vessels, LLC (Edison Chouest Offshore) provides marine transportation services for customers in the United States and internationally. The company also engages in operating a marine port to transfer cargo and to provide support services to accommodate deepwater offshore vessels; the design, engineering, manufacture, and installation of custom control and monitoring systems to the general public and the marine industry; distributing marine PCs; the design, manufacture, and installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems; and providing repair services and parts.  

In addition, it produces and delivers dynamic positioning systems; bridge mate integrated bridge system for ARPA radar, electronic charts display and information system (ECDIS), cameras, sensor control, and monitoring applications; secure satellite communication solutions for the remote diagnostic and monitoring of integrated bridge system functions; bridge mate RadaScan, a position reference sensor based on radar for use in dynamic positioning and various vessel control applications; and bridge mate CyScan, a local position reference sensor that is engineered for marine vessel control applications.


Further, the company provides C-Comm box, a networking extended router that functions as a junction box between networks and services on vessels; C-Comm VSAT, which provides communications options to the maritime marketplace, including Internet protocol phones, vessel tracking, weather service, electronic navigational charts, content management, and global system for mobile communications; and C-Comm Weather that provides weather solutions for commercial shipping.

Furthermore, it distributes electronic navigational charts; and HVAC systems for marine vessels, restaurants, and commercial and industrial applications. Offshore Service Vessels, LLC was founded in 1960 and is based in Cut Off, Louisiana. The company has locations in Mandeville, Louisiana; Egersund, Norway; Singapore; and Brazil.

The contractor will operate and maintain the vessel for the duration of the charter. This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $43,168,496. Services of the chartered vessel will be provided worldwide, and work is expected to be completed September 2013.
